The Burns Junction Scale is one of those "back country" scales that opens when the Enforcement Officer feels the need to open them. IE: Saturday and Sunday nights during apple and cherry season. They like to pull in late night runners hauling produce to Los Angeles. DON'T run these scales when they are open! Oregon has a law that makes running an open scale a misdemeanor and offers up to a $2500 dollar fine and 6 months in jail. If you plan on stopping at Burns Junction for the night, or to get a bite to eat at the restaurant, GO through the scales first.
