Information
Rumor has it that this weigh station was hit by lightening and is now permanently closed. But according to Ohio State Police at the Findlay head quarters, the weigh station hasn’t been hit by lightening. The concrete supports around the scale platform have deteriorated over time, and they are doing repairs. The scale was shut down in the summer of 2006 and is not expected to be reopened until November of 2007 due to the financial burden. But it IS expected to be reopened. The weigh station is agetting a new truck scale as well as a new weigh bridge- which is the foundation below the scale. The old weigh bridge that is being replaced was 30 years old. A routine inspection of the weigh bridge found erosion, so they shut the scale house down.
As of November 7, 2008, officers tell us that the weigh station is still closed down.
